A different way to learn... let them go... give them time... let them be...then welcome them back when they need a home...

Children are the best creation, they just overwhelm your heart with so much unexplained joy.
they dance with so much passion, education is not just found in the four corners of the classroom, it's everywhere.
So young and vibrant, but their movements are so synchronized and graceful like dancers in a pro ballet show.
give them something interesting, they wouldn't know you were there with them the whole time. :))
 adorable!
Teachers and parents are very lucky to have such wonderful kids.

Absenteeism in school

I have been teaching for several years now, and this is one problem I have been encountering over and over every year.

Others are really health related and most of these are legitimate reasons why they skip school, I for one have suffered asthma most of my teenage years, it was a terrible experience, my grades were severely affected with constant absenteeism. The role of parents and teachers are very critical in a condition like this. Others lack self esteem due to problems with coping up with the lessons.

There has to be more collaborative efforts between parents and teachers to be done to address the needs of a student who is constantly affected by health issues.

There are several factors however, why students skip school from my experience aside from the ONES who are genuinely unable to attend classes.

Listed below are some of the problems:

1. They are just sickly, every now and then they acquire all forms of illnesses from all aches... (I mean all the aches... headache/stomachache/ toothache, etc.) with doctors med certificates that can be acceptable, but others simply make their parents write me a note... of course if you simply just got it, one can take non-prescription drugs without having to go to the doctor. A parent's note can be acceptable, but if it tends to become a routine, there has to be a much worse scenario.

2.They are so fond of attending all special occasions of their siblings, a relative, a neighbor etc. every time.

3. They slept late, so most of them wake up late. These are mostly caused  by the rapid emergence of technology of all sorts. teacher mode.>>> talk to parents.

4. Too lazy to got to school. teacher mode >>> bring more life in the classroom, give these students challenging responsibilities that will help them bring the best in them.

5. They can't miss their favorite championship game!, They are just not interested in school as they are in these playoffs.

6. Teacher factor. >>> we need a dialogue here! Some teachers just find this hard to accept, but if one is passionate over teaching, there is always a room somewhere for improvement.

I know there are more out there... but as teachers we find the positive out of the messes and indecision we and our students make, we have the responsibility to lead them to believe in school.

on neglected responsibilities:

"People posts threats on you because you might have responsibilities to them that you intentionally neglect...  you have to move and payback what you owe..."

The pope's Christmas wish 2013

The Pope's wish for Christmas is "Hope for a better world!"

What a nice thing to come by and remember as we go through another chapter of our lives. Anywhere in the world, wherever we are and our loved ones are, this message ensures love and confidence in the life bestowed upon each one living. If this is altogether the wish of everyone, what a happy place to live in.

"Peace calls for daily commitment", this should struck us the most and that it is not throwing words like daggers at each other that we can make a stand out of individual differences nor can we rule others out of the conflicts that come by naturally in the workplace, at home, or even in our little neighborhood where a little gossip here and there comes out of hand. It is our constant devotion to living a harmonious life with other people no matter how little they are, in one way or the other has contributed to a better and peaceful place to live. This is our legacy to our future children and the generation after them. It is a rippling effect that attaches us to the achievements and the little things we do for others that leaves a mark as long as man lives.

A Smile on Your Face

An exquisite curve carved on a visage is an embellishment that embosses an individual's glow. No matter how strong is its contact with human nature, you will still get the feeling that behind the fanciful embroidery on the face, nothing is certain of its objective.

It could be a person's charm, his persona, or his deceit. One smile can take millions to do the same, millions that curse heaven's generous ambiguity. It will only take just one smile to brighten up the day,

to say "I'm happy", "it is okay", "I believe you", "nothing"
to show "that's more like it"
to imply "Watch me"
to cry in "I did it again"
to mask in "next time it will be better" and
to make others feel everything is going to be just fine or impeccably emphasize it is over when I say it is.

A ray and a splatter of sunshine that reaches far and wide, a blast of darkness that blinds the sight engulfing a dreary solace, from a point might look unending, mystifying and probing but is not always the case, it must never be left unnoticed that God did not just make the sun, with it comes the moon, in every light comes the dark, with the day goes the night, a wheel goes up and down or otherwise, think of the grandeur of four magical seasons in a year, it is not summer or spring every time , and remember that our footsteps are not always going forwards and shadows tagging behind.

At the rear end of every smile, there in the midst lurks in something mysteriously questioning, provocatively enchanting and very protectively arresting of its holder's inner child, the echo within, his conscience and his every desire.

But anyways,

Go whistle your worries away and plaster that invigorating curve on your pretty face because it will somehow make someone’s day!

Souls in Purgatory

Somebody lately once asked me if I believe in Ghosts,..

My answer???

I forgot...

It is not that I really did, but I wanted to... I have no intentions of letting the thought linger through my mind like worms, slimy and ghastly grotesque. It is a talent I most gratifyingly learned... "free thyself from what torments thee"... hehehe (TALAWAN LANG JUD! LUPIG PA ANG OK-OK(I am Just more scared than roaches)!).

In fact, I had one terrifying experience that got my heart to pump like it'll never let blood through. This occurrence made me madly lethargic and allergic to the very word literally. When I was young, about 11 years old, like always the responsible student "KUNO" in school, I prayed (for souls in purgatory, I was told they help) and hoped to wake up very early the following day to study my lessons in preparation for the TEST. I always prefer to run over my modules and notes before the sun starts to smile.

Three a.m., that was my target time... I had a lot of subjects to review for our periodical examinations. So I hopped on to bed very early, snuggled on the sheets, buried my head on my pillow until sleep grabbed me. Suddenly, I woke up unexpectedly, disconcertingly exhausted, all sweaty and out of breathe, somebody... or... it might be something..., until now I still can feel kissing my right ear gently and creepily whispered, "Wake up Le, its 3 a.m." For the love of God! I had no idea what that was but it was disturbingly freaky! It seemed like my blood ran through my tiny veins like greased lightning. I jumped out of bed like I never did before at three in the morning, beating father rooster choke on his own crow...darn...!

The end....

OK, you can forget about it...

I believe that in what, where, and who I am on Blessed Earth,
I just don't EXIST... but I LIVE TO EXPERIENCE...

I still have with me this beautiful piece of poetry composed by a wonderful Australian friend from the past. Wherever you are, thank you too so much, you touched my heart deeply by being "The Friend" that any person would ever dream of having... the faithfulness and sincerity will always be remembered, treasured and appreciated. I hope you found what you were looking for..."buddy"

For A Friend Called "Le"
by james eslick

in the ocean where many fish are free,
i managed to catch a beautiful friend called "Le".

we might be many miles apart,
but that doesn't mean anything from a friendship we made from the start.

a charming guide to bring me up from the downs,
one that makes me smile and happy when I frown.

clowns laugh and so do I when i talk to you,
even from the first time I thought you so cool.

thank you for being my friend and one that listens,
I owe you the world and every star that is glittering.

the sun shines from your eyes,
and even when its dark outside you still glow 'cuz you so nice.

thank you my friend, thank you again,
and me? ill be here on your road ahead.

maybe I can guide you, be your angel too,
pick you up from your sadness when you feel time's through.

you do so much for me and I just want to tell you,
that no matter where the road leads us,
you will always have a buddy that cares for u too.
